In its results for the fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2023, Nintendo has reported that Switch hardware sales declined by 22%, as the company only sold 17.97 million consoles during that 12-month period. Nintendo expects this decline to continue through its next fiscal year, which will end on March 31, 2024, and is predicting an additional 16.5% decline, or around 15 million consoles that’ll be sold over the next year. In total, Nintendo has sold 125.6 million Switch consoles since it launched in 2017. “Nintendo Switch has entered its seventh year since launch, and while it will become more challenging to maintain the same sales momentum as before, our goal is to have more consumers continue to play Nintendo Switch for longer, leading to maximized sales,” Nintendo said in a statement.
